Kenneth S. Spirer

Mr. Spirer was a lawyer with the Securities & Exchange Commission in Washington, DC before joining Merrill Lynch in New York as First Vice President and Assistant General Counsel. He has served as Chair of the Maine Community Foundation and is currently a trustee of the Portland Symphony Orchestra, the Harold Alfond Scholarship Foundation, and Maine Audubon. In 2009 Mr. Spirer was appointed by Governor Baldacci to serve with the Maine Commission on Indigent Legal Services. He is a member of the Advisory Board of CEI Notes, past president of the LARK Society for Chamber Music, and a founding member of Common Good Ventures. He also volunteers with the AARP/IRS Tax Aide program. Mr. Spirer has lived in Portland’s West End with his wife, Joan Leitzer, MD, since 1995.
