Elinor G. Miller

During her 28 years as Assistant Director of Pine Tree Legal Assistance, Ms Miller secured funding for Maine’s first legal aid project for victims of domestic violence and worked on funding initiatives for underserved populations including migrant farm workers and Native Americans. She also worked on the development of the KIDS LEGAL program. More recently, she served as the Director of Levey Day School and is currently an instructor at the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School. Her volunteer activities have been focused in Portland’s Jewish community where she has served on the boards of numerous organizations including the Federation (now the Jewish Community Alliance) and as President of Temple Beth El.  In 2009, she received the Edmund S. Muskie Award for Access to Justice. She and her husband Charles live in Portland.
